ABOUT ME
I am a fully qualified Specialist Dyslexia Teacher and Assessor with an MA in Specific Learning Difficulties (Dyslexia), who combines personal and professional insights into my practice.
Being dyslexic myself, I have a deep understanding of the unique strengths and challenges it presents, from early education through to adulthood. My approach is rooted in compassion and understanding, offering individualised support to learners and their families as they navigate their educational journeys.
Through my experience as a Specialist Dyslexia Educator, SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), and teacher in early years, primary, and specialist SEN settings, I am passionate about helping students unlock their potential and build on their unique strengths to support their learning differences. As an Associate Member of the British Dyslexia Association (AMBDA) and a holder of a current Assessment Practicing Certificate (APC), I ensure that my assessments and support meet the highest professional standards.
In addition to my BA (Hons) in Primary Education, I hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Special Educational Needs and qualified as a SENCO with the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO). I maintain an up-to-date DBS check and appropriate indemnity insurance, ensuring that families feel confident and secure throughout the assessment process.
Both as an educator and a parent of a primary-aged child, I understand the complexities of our education system from both sides of the classroom door and am committed to fostering a unified approach to ensure the best possible outcomes for children.
Outside of my work in education, I’m passionate about the power of nature, music, and - most importantly - cats!
